Hong Kong: Stocks begin slightly higher on Friday

HONG Kong stocks edged up in the first few minutes of business on Friday following an advance on Wall Street as traders prepare for further central bank interest rate hikes.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.21 per cent, or 39.03 points, to 18,893.65.
The Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.17 per cent, or 5.59 points to 3,241.18, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange added 0.22 per cent, or 4.61 points to 2,109.00. AFP
