Hong Kong: Stocks begin Thursday's session with losses

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares fell in the first few minutes of trade on Thursday morning after minutes from the Federal Reserve's latest meeting indicated it would begin tapering its monetary policy by the end of the year.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.31 per cent, or 79.17 points, to 25,787.84.

The Shanghai Composite shed 0.29 per cent, or 9.99 points, to 3,475.30, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange eased 0.11 per cent, or 2.63 points, to 2,409.86.
