Hong Kong: Stocks boosted by Alibaba rally

HONG Kong shares rallied on Tuesday (Jul 26) thanks to a surge in the tech sector after Alibaba said it was planning a primary listing in the city that could pave the way for mainland Chinese investors to invest in the firm.
The Hang Seng Index jumped 1.67 per cent, or 342.94 points, to close at 20,905.88.
The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.83 per cent, or 27.05 points, to 3,277.44, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange climbed 1.01 per cent, or 21.87 points, to 2,187.23. AFP
