Hong Kong: Stocks build on gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks extended the previous day's gains on lingering optimism after last week's US jobs data doused the chances of a hike in borrowing costs by the Federal Reserve this month.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.18 per cent, or 41.39 points, to 23,690.94.
In Shanghai the benchmark composite index was flat, edging down 1.04 points to 3,071.06, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was slightly higher, adding 1.17 points to 2,019.27.
