[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks fell 0.36 per cent on Friday, against a backdrop of mixed Asian markets after Japan said inflation slowed in December and following a rise on Wall Street.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index lost 88.8 points to 24,507.05 points on turnover of HK$85.13 billion (US$10.97 billion).
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.59 per cent, or 51.95 points, to 3,210.36 on turnover of 284.3 billion yuan (US$45.5 billion). The index lost 4.22 per cent for the week.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 1.11 per cent, or 16.99 points, to 1,512.39 on turnover of 213.6 billion yuan.
