Hong Kong: Stocks close lower

HONG Kong stocks closed lower on Friday (Sep 16), tracking world markets as investors continue to show concern over high inflation and the likelihood of further interest rate hikes.

The Hang Seng Index dropped 0.89 per cent, or 168.69 points, to 18,761.69.

The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 2.3 per cent, or 73.52 points, to 3,126.40, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange also lost ground, dropping 2.3 per cent, or 46.19 points, to 2,005.60. AFP
