[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks tumbled on Wednesday, with casino operators crashing after Macau officials unveiled plans to tighten their grip on the sector, while traders were also spooked by retail sales data indicating China's economic recovery slowed further in August.
The Hang Seng Index sank 1.84 per cent, or 469.02 points, to 25,033.21.
But the Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.17 per cent, or 6.38 points, to 3,656.22, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange eased 0.11 per cent, or 2.76 points, to 2,486.13.
