HONG KONG stocks fell at the start of Wednesday’s (Apr 27) trade following a rout on Wall Street fuelled by fears about the economic outlook owing to a range of problems including China’s Covid lockdowns and US interest rate hike plans.
The Hang Seng Index shed 1.06 per cent or 211.25 points to 19,723.46.
The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.68 per cent or 19.61 points to 2,866.82, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange dropped 1.28 per cent or 22.43 points to 1,729.85. AFP
