Hong Kong: Stocks edge down at open

    [HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong fell in opening trade Friday, marking a seventh straight loss fuelled by an oil price rout that has ravaged global markets this week.

    The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong slipped 0.26 per cent, or 55.80 points, to 21,648.81.

    And in Shanghai the composite index dropped 0.40 per cent or 13.90 points, to 3,441.60, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slid 0.39 per cent, or 8.69 points, to 2,203.17.
