Hong Kong: Stocks edge up at open on Monday

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened in positive territory on Monday with investors awaiting the release of Chinese economic growth data.

    The Hang Seng Index added 0.19 per cent, or 55.52 points, to 28,580.96.

    But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.14 per cent, or 4.10 points, to 2,827.08 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.19 per cent, or 2.97 points, to 1,601.48.
