Hong Kong: Stocks end with another loss

    HONG Kong stocks closed down on Tuesday (Aug 30), extending losses sparked by a warning from Federal Reserve boss Jerome Powell that the bank would continue hiking interest rates to fight inflation.

    The Hang Seng Index lost 0.37 per cent, or 74.19 points, to 19,949.03.

    The Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.42 per cent, or 13.51 points, to 3,227.22. The Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange dipped 0.47 per cent, or 10.02 points, to 2,137.72. AFP
