Hong Kong: Stocks end higher

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares finished Monday on a high note thanks to a boost by large-cap shares ahead of the 20th anniversary of the city's handover later this week.

    The Hang Seng Index rose 0.75 per cent, or 192.44 points, to close at 25,862.49.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.87 per cent, or 27.57 points, at 3,185.44. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 1.36 per cent, or 25.45 points, to end at 1,896.79.
