Hong Kong: Stocks end volatile day with losses

HONG Kong stocks finished on Wednesday (Oct 12) with another loss, having swung through the day, as the Bank of England confirmed it would end support for financial markets at day’s end.
The Hang Seng Index shed 0.78 per cent, or 131.33 points, to 16,701.03.
But the Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.53 per cent, or 45.71 points, to 3,025.51, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange edged rallied 2.53 per cent, or 47.53 points, to 1,929.53. AFP
