Hong Kong: Stocks end well down but pare early losses

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks bounced back in the afternoon from hefty morning selling but ended sharply lower on concerns US interest rates will rise quicker than initially expected.
The Hang Seng Index fell 1.09 per cent, or 356.56 points, to end at 32,245.22.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.73 per cent, or 25.42 points, to 3,487.50 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.84 per cent, or 15.23 points, to 1,806.30.
