Hong Kong: Stocks open up after Trump unveils tax plan

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares opened slightly higher on Thursday morning, extending the previous day's gains following a rally on Wall Street after Donald Trump unveiled long-awaited plans for cutting US taxes.

The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.07 per cent, or 18.84 points to 27,661.27.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was a tad lower, dipping 1.43 points to 3,343.84, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.09 per cent, or 1.72 points, to 1,977.56.
