Hong Kong: Stocks open flat after Wall St losses

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks opened flat on Wednesday, following a weak lead from Wall Street and Europe and as oil prices slipped.

    The Hang Seng Index inched down 2.4 points to 20,812.69 in early deals.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.53 points to 2,917.15, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.26 per cent, or 4.94 points, to 1,877.30.
