Hong Kong: Stocks open higher after Wall Street gains
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks were up Friday tracking strong gains on Wall Street but Shanghai was flat as investors awaited the announcement of more economic data for July.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.77 per cent, or 173.76 points, to 22,754.31.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.08 per cent, or 2.37 points, to 3,000.27 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.19 per cent, or 3.64 points, to 1,947.28.
