Hong Kong: Stocks open higher on Opec deal
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares opened higher Thursday morning as energy firms were boosted by a surprise deal by Opec to cut oil production and lift prices.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.58 per cent or 136.17 points, to 23,755.82.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.14 per cent, or 4.31 points, to 2,992.17 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was marginally up, adding 1.16 points to 1,979.46.
