Hong Kong: Stocks open lower on Thursday

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks started Thursday on the back foot following Federal Reserve minutes that tempered expectations of any further monetary easing measures, while the chance of a new stimulus from Congress appeared a distant prospect.

    The Hang Sang Index slipped 0.49 per cent, or 123.56 points, to 25,055.35.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.65 per cent, or 22.16 points, to 3,385.96, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange eased 0.71 per cent, or 16.09 points, to 2,237.58.
