Hong Kong: Stocks opened higher

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened slightly higher Friday despite the US threatening to slap an additional US$100 billion of tariffs on Beijing in a growing trade dispute.

    The Hang Seng Index added 1.06 per cent, or 316.61 points, to 29,835.3.

    The Shanghai, Shenzhen and Taipei financial markets are closed on Friday for a public holiday.
