Hong Kong: Stocks rise as Evergrande concerns subside

[HONG KONG] Stocks rose in Hong Kong on Thursday as investors returned from a midweek break to easing concerns about troubled Chinese property giant Evergrande, while they also welcomed comments from the US Federal Reserve on tapering its monetary policy.

The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.19 per cent, or 289.44 points, to 24,510.98.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.38 per cent, or 13.73 points, to 3,642.22, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange added 0.46 per cent, or 11.30 points, to 2,451.36.
