Hong Kong: Stocks sink at open

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened lower Thursday morning as energy-linked firms took an early battering following a plunge in oil prices.

    The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.48 per cent, or 114.50 points, to 23,667.77.

    And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.21 per cent, or 6.96 points, to 3,233.70 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.14 per cent, or 2.85 points, to 2,021.43.
