Hong Kong: Stocks surge 3.19% in morning trade

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index surged more than three per cent in morning trading on Thursday, despite continued sharp falls in mainland China's stock markets.
The Hang Seng Index gained 3.19 per cent, or 751.01 points, to 24,267.57 by 10.12 am (0212 GMT).
