Hong Kong: Stocks swing to healthy gain at open

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares rallied more than one per cent in the opening minutes on Thursday as bargain-buyers moved in following the previous day's losses.

    The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.08 per cent, or 326.76 points, to 30,523.68.

    But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.10 per cent, or 3.32 points, to 3,268.35 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.07 per cent, or 1.34 points, to 1,836.53.
