Hong Kong: Stocks tick higher after opening

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks edged up in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday, recovering some ground after the previous day's drop of more than one percent.

    The Hang Seng index added 0.38 per cent, or 97.32 points, to 25,805.36.

    But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.19 per cent, or 5.87 points, to 3,134.01 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.15 per cent, or 2.75 points, to 1,834.01.
