Indonesia: Stock index hits record high on ECB stimulus boost
[JAKARTA] Indonesian stock index rose more than 1 per cent to a record high of 5,312.37 in early trading Friday as European Central Bank launched a government bond-buying programme.
The index was supported by blue-chips like auto distributor PT Astra International and consumer products maker PT Unilever Indonesia. This is the first time the main stock index crossing the 5,300 mark.
The ECB launched a 1 trillion euro stimulus plan in an effort to revive the European economy.
