MALAYSIA share prices closed higher on Monday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index up 16.96 points to 1,612.14.

Volume was 2.2 billion lots worth RM 2 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 525 to 315.
