    MALAYSIAN stocks closed higher on Monday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index up 12.70 points to 1,849.71. Volume was 2.21 billion shares worth RM2.10 billion.

    Gainers outnumbered losers by 702 to 249.
