MALAYSIA shares closed higher on Wednesday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index up 16.43 points to 1569.80.

Volume was 4.554 billion lots worth RM2.89 billion.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 532 to 509.
