MALAYSIA share prices closed higher on Wednesday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index up 16.47 points to 1,600.38.

Volume was 4.487 billion lots worth RM3.337 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 577 to 460.
