    MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Monday (Aug 22) with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 17.07 points to 1,487.37.

    Volume was 2.188 billion lots worth RM1.561 billion.

    Losers outnumbered gainers 670 to 219.
