MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Monday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 9.67 points to 1,722.47.

Volume was 19.53 million lots worth RM1.68 billion.

Losers beat gainers 497 to 315.
