MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Friday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 5.98 points to 1,489.80.

Volume was 4.288 billion lots worth RM2.530 billion.

Gainers narrowly outnumbered losers 496 to 495.
