MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Monday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 16.81 points to 1,572.24.

Volume was 6.041 billion lots worth RM2.798 billion.

Losers outnumbered gainers 784 to 309.
