MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Monday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 9.46 points to 1,616.73.

Volume was 7.566 billion lots worth RM3.992 billion.

Losers outnumbered gainers 744 to 392.
