MALAYSIA shares closed lower on Thursday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 1.43 points to 1543.61.

Volume was 2.244 billion lots worth RM1.507 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 448 to 408.
