MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Thursday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 1.58 points to 1,579.90.

Volume was 4.915 billion lots worth RM2.737 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 520 to 436.
