MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Wednesday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 4.93 points to 1,667.83.

Volume was three billion lots worth RM2.5 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 678 to 258.
