MALAYSIA share prices closed lower on Wednesday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 5.38 points to 1,549.58.

Volume was 12.121 billion lots worth RM6.184 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 705 to 424.
