    MALAYSIAN shares ended lower on Friday with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 4.97 points to close at 1,628.79.

    Some 1.71 billion lots, valued at RM1.64 billion were traded. Gainers numbered 365 while losers numbered 408.
