Seoul: Won, stocks up slightly ahead of US healthcare vote

    [SEOUL] The South Korean won ended slightly higher on Thursday, with many investors on the sidelines ahead of a vote on US President Donald Trump's healthcare policy.

    The won was quoted at 1,122.4 to the dollar at the conclusion of onshore trade, up 0.1 per cent compared to Wednesday's close of 1,123.3.

    South Korean shares edged up on support of offshore demand for local stocks.

    The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed up 0.2 per cent at 2,172.72 points.
