Shanghai, Hong Kong: Stocks down in opening exchanges

[HONG KONG] Stocks in Shanghai and Hong Kong dipped in the first few minutes of trade Wednesday following a negative lead from Wall Street after a weak batch of data raised concerns about the US economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.50 per cent, or 17.33 points, to 3,417.01.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.66 per cent, or 13.55 points, to 2,030.23.
And the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong dipped 0.30 per cent, or 69.48 points, to 23,073.25.
