Shanghai: Stocks drop 1.87% in morning trade
[SHANGHAI] Shanghai stocks dropped 1.87 per cent on Thursday morning, extending losses from a day earlier, as sentiment weakened despite recent government moves to stabilise the market, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 69.07 points to 3,625.50.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 2.05 per cent, or 43.53 points, to 2,084.89.
