Shanghai: Stocks up slightly in morning trade

[SHANGHAI] Shanghai stocks were up slightly on Wednesday morning on expectations of more moves by the government to boost the slowing economy, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.14 per cent, or 4.87 points, to 3,430.20. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.29 per cent, or 5.79 points, to 2,014.27.
The Hong Kong market was closed for a holiday.
