Singapore shares climb 0.9%

SHARE prices in the local bourse rose with the key Straits Times Index gaining 29 points or 0.9 per cent to 3,308.69.

Some 2.2 billion shares worth S$1.2 billion were done with 234 counters up and 230 counters down.
