Singapore shares close 0.3% higher

SHARE prices on the local bourse closed higher on Wednesday with the key Straits Times Index rising 8.9 points or 0.3 per cent to finish at 3,336.72.
Some 2.7 billion shares worth S$1.2 billion were done. Losers outpaced gainers with 272 counters down and 175 counters up.
