Singapore shares close 0.4% up on Friday
SINGAPORE stocks got a brief respite on Friday after a downbeat week that saw sentiment dampened by Brexit fears.
The bluechip Straits Times Index finished 0.4 per cent higher on Friday, moving up 11.86 points to 2,763.42.
About 1.09 billion shares worth S$1.12 billion in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.03 per share.
The most actively traded counter was Sitra Holdings, which rose S$0.001 to S$0.013 with 102.5 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Addvalue Technologies and Annica Holdings.
Losers outnumbered gainers 212 to 172, or about five down for every four up.
