Singapore shares close 0.4% higher

SHARE prices in the Singapore bourse rose for the second straight day with the benchmark Straits Times Index up 12.37 points or 0.4 per cent at 3,356.25.
Some 1.8 billion shares worth S$1.1 billion were traded compared with the previous day's 1.8 billion shares worth S$1.1 billion.
Losers narrowly outpaced gainers with 217 counters down and 211 counters up.
