Singapore shares close 0.5% lower

SHARE prices in the Singapore bourse slipped with the key Straits Times Index closing 17.4 points or 0.5 per cent lower to finish at 3,529.82 on Friday.
Some 3.9 billion shares worth S$1.9 billion versus Thursday's 2.8 billion shares worth S$1.7 billion were traded.
Losers outpaced gainers with 284 counters down and 180 counters up.
