Singapore shares close down 0.36% on Thursday
THE benchmark Straits Times Index slipped on Thursday by another 12.34 points, or 0.36 per cent, to 3,382.53, in a six-day losing streak.
Volume across the bourse stood at 1.2 billion shares, worth S$808.5 million in all.
Losers outnumbered gainers by a close 202 to 198.
STI constituent Thai Beverage Public Co Ltd was again a drag on the index. The stock fell by half a Singapore cent, or 0.53 per cent, to S$0.935 on the day's fourth-most heavily traded volume of nearly 32.58 million shares.
Precision manufacturer Allied Technologies topped the day's trade on a turnover of 175.98 million shares. It put on 0.7 Singapore cent, or 10.29 per cent, to S$0.075, after announcing that it is selling a loss-making unit in China for S$25 million.
